Railway Town

In 1953, in the middle of the night, a young couple in North Carolina get the call they’ve been waiting for.
A child is born. A girl.
The daughter they’ve always wanted.
As they drive east to the snowy railway town of Altoona, Pennsylvania, anticipating what they will find, another young mother mourns for her child...
A child she believes to have never lived.
Decades later, Rachel meets Rhys during parallel times in their lives- both navigating difficult divorces, and both struggling to raise new adults of their own. Rhys is new to Rachel’s small coastal town, carrying a dark family secret that he is determined to disprove once and for all...
A dark legacy that has haunted his bloodline for generations.
Together, Rachel and Rhys learn the truth, discovering one doctor’s original intentions...
And the lies that would plague both of their family’s heritage forever.

The Horseshoe Curve

Horseshoe Curve is a three-track railroad curve on Norfolk Southern Railway's Pittsburgh Line in Blair County, Pennsylvania. The curve itself is about 2,375 feet long and 1,300 feet in diameter; it was completed in 1854 by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a way to lessen the grade to the summit of the Allegheny Mountains.
